Trying To Get Healthy

I’m ending my blogging hiatus by continuing news on the health care debate and launching a new initiative.

PAWLENTY WATCH: I’m starting a new part of my blog (catchy title, huh?) to keep on eye on Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty who is considering a run for the White House.  The reason I’m doing this is because, and I am saying it today, Pawlenty will be either the Republican Presidential nominee or Vice Presidential nominee in 2012.  He’s everything the party is looking for, and if he can gain national name recognition, he will be the front runner.  He has already starting stealing former Mitt Romney backers, and has some serious support from party big wigs.

Today Pawlenty rolled out his plan for health care reform.  This is no surprise from a future candidate that is doing fundraising lunches in Iowa (early primary state) and is looking to join the national debate.  It’s a 3-pronged approach that would make Minnesota the first state to allow people to buy insurance from out of state businesses.

His announcement comes on the heals of the Senate Finance Committee voting for their version of health care reform.  That bill, which actually had one Republican vote for it, will now be melded with the 4 other plans and brought in front of the full senate, where it will be battered like a baseball at batting practice.
