About

Mark co-anchors NewsChannel 8 at 5 with Lisa Klein and anchors NewsChannel 8 at Noon. He was hired in October of 2004 as a news photographer, started reporting in May of 2006, moved to the weekend anchor desk in early 2007, and has now escaped weekends and is at the anchor desk every weeknight.

Mark was born and raised in Roseville, MN. He graduated from Winona State University with a bachelors degree in broadcasting, and says he is excited to have a job in the Coulee Region. Mark says he loves his job, because he see’s something new everyday. Mark is an award winning photographer, but says he feels more at home in front of the camera.

Mark fell in love with news on Election Night 2004, and was the last to leave the newsroom at 3 a.m. on Election ‘Night’ 2008. Some of his more memorable stories during his time with WKBT include a trip to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, flying in a B-17 Flying Fortress with a retired WWII Vet, and interviewing the future Vice President of the United States.

Mark never passes on an opportunity to talk sports and politics. He likes to stay active, and is back to working on the terrible slice in his golf swing. Mark loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys meeting new people, so if you see him in the community, please say hello. Feel free to contact him anytime at mmcpherson@wkbt.com.
